Unwanted hair can be a constant hassle—shaving, waxing, and threading can be time-consuming, irritating, and expensive in the long run.

At Forena Clinic, Seoul, Korea, we offer medical-grade laser hair removal using the Apogee Elite Plus and GentleMax Pro Plus, two of the most advanced systems in the industry.

Whether you’re tired of ingrown hairs or just want silky smooth skin with minimal maintenance, here’s everything you need to know before getting started.

What Devices Do We Use?

Apogee Elite Plus

This dual-wavelength system targets a broad range of hair and skin types with precision and minimal discomfort. It’s ideal for large areas like the legs or back and suitable for lighter to medium skin tones.

GentleMax Pro Plus

This is a more powerful, upgraded device that combines both Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers for effective treatment on a wider variety of skin tones and hair types. It’s especially effective for stubborn or coarse hair, making it ideal for underarms, bikini lines, and male facial hair.

Compared to Apogee Elite Plus, GentleMax Pro Plus delivers slightly stronger energy, offering faster results in fewer sessions for certain hair types.

How Many Sessions Are Needed?

Laser hair removal isn’t a one-time treatment. Hair grows in cycles, so multiple sessions are required to catch every hair at the right phase.

  • Most patients need 5–8 sessions per area for optimal results.

  • Interval between sessions is typically 4–6 weeks.

  • Males may require more sessions, especially for areas like the face or chest due to thicker, denser hair.

  • Finer or lighter hair may respond more slowly and need a few additional touch-ups.

How to Prepare Before Your Session

To ensure the treatment is safe and effective:

  • Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment (don’t wax or pluck!).

  • Avoid sun exposure or tanning (including self-tanner) for at least 2 weeks.

  • Don’t use active skincare products (like retinoids or acids) in the area for 3–5 days.

  • Let us know if you're taking any medication or antibiotics.

  • Come with clean, dry skin—no lotion, deodorant, or makeup on the area to be treated.

What to Expect After Treatment

After laser hair removal, some redness or mild swelling is completely normal and usually subsides within a few hours.

Post-Care Tips:

  • Apply a cooling gel or aloe vera to calm the skin.

  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts for 1 week.

  • Do not wax, pluck, or thread the treated area between sessions.

  • Always use broad-spectrum SPF on exposed areas.

  • Mild shedding of hair may occur over the next 1–2 weeks.

Is It Painful?

Our systems include built-in cooling mechanisms for patient comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap with mild heat—very tolerable and far less painful than waxing.
